Sunday 11th May | A PENTECOST PARTY -
will be held by Keyworth Churches Together on Sunday 11th May, starting
at 3.00 p.m. at the URC. It will start with a short service and be
followed by a "shared table" outdoor picnic.(in the Webster Hall if it
rains!). All are invited to attend. |

Aid Week is fast approaching and we need volunteers to distribute and

Wednesday 21st May | ST MARY’S - are to have a Church Open Day on Wednesday 21st May,
11 am - 1.30 pm, 2.30 pm - 4 pm and 4.30 – 6 pm. Everyone is
invited to see the alterations made to the Church and there will also
be light refreshments. |
Tuesday 6th May | BANNER GROUP MEETING - next Tuesday, 6th May,
2 – 4 pm in our Parish Room. Come along and see the design for
our new project – a banner for Our Lady of Grace, Cotgrave. All
welcome. |
11th to 17th May | COLLECTORS

Hospital
staff will no longer notify the chaplaincy at the Queens hospital about
Catholic inpatients at Queens and the City Hospitals. Therefore it is
of the utmost importance that if you, or a family member, go into
hospital you notify your priest or the Catholic chaplaincy at Queens
Tel. 9249924 Ext. 64964.
The Catholic Chaplain at
the City
Hospital is Fr Frank McLaughlin tel. 9268288. There is a pressing need
for ward visitors in light of the above. If you are interested in
becoming a ward visitor to Catholic patients please contact the

THE CHURCH IN NEED IN CHINA & THE MIDDLE EAST: "Aid to the Church in need" is organising an event at St Barnabas Cathedral on Saturday 10th May.
The day will start with Sung Mass at 10.00 a.m., followed by eye
witness accounts from the suffering church in China and The Middle
East. John Pontifex will report back from his recent trip across
China, where he discovered a Church whose vitality amid persecution is
nothing short of a miracle. Father Samer Nassif, from Lebanon,
will talk about the plight of the faithful in The Middle East. |
THE DIOCESAN MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE COMMISSION . This Commission has a vacancy
for a Project leader to lead the "Praying with your children at home"
project. The aim of the Project is to support the role of parents at
home in their development of prayer and spirituality within the family,

THE CATHOLIC CHILDRENS SOCIETY, NOTTINGHAM. This
Society will celebrate 60 years of caring for children and families
with a Diamond Jubilee Celebration Mass at St Barnabas’ Cathedral
on Sunday, 18th May at 3pm. This will be followed by refreshments in the Cathedral Hall. All welcome. |

“EXPLORING CHILDREN’S SPIRITUALITY THROUGH THE MASS” - is
a lecture morning for catechists and teachers, prepared for all those
working alongside Children, with particular interest for those teaching
and co-ordinating RE programmes. It will be held on Tuesday 20th May
2008, from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. at the Rosmini Centre House of
Prayer, Leicester, LE7 4SJ. The morning will be led by Mrs Julia Joy,
currently an external student for the Catholic Certificate in Religious
Studies through Ushaw College, Durham. Julia, a parish musician
for many years, has a keen interest in Catechesis, and has recently
completed Part 1 of Level I of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

THE
BRIARS GOLF TOURNAMENT - will be held on Friday 13th June 2008 at the
CHEVIN GOLF CLUB, Nr Derby. The first tee is reserved from 8.30 a.m.
The format is 18 holes AM-AM off handicap. There are many attractive
prizes. The entry fee is £200 per team of four, which includes
Green Fee and a Full Meal after play. You are invited to use the
clubhouse facilities and remain for the Prize giving at 8.30 p.m.
Please note that jeans are unacceptable either on the course or in the
clubhouse. All proceeds will go to the Briars Residential Centre
